Suspected armed robbers on Friday night, invaded TYBATO petrol station in Moniya area of Ibadan, killed a security guard and carted away plasma television and provisions.
SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, Police Public Relations Officers (PPRO) in the state confirmed this on Saturday in Ibadan.
Fadeyi said that the security guard, identified as Isau Yisah, 43, was found in the pool of his blood with injury on his head after a plank was seen beside him, supposedly used by the robbers to smash his head.
He said that the owner of the petrol station, Mr Olatunji Isaac, reported the incident to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Moniya, on Saturday at about 9:05am.
The PPRO said that the corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital, Moniya.
He further said that investigation into the dastardly act had commenced and effort intensified to arrest the culprits.
He appealed to the communities to give the police credible information that could unravel the misery behind the evil act and perpetrators brought to book.
According to Fadeyi, the control room numbers and social media handles are available for quick response to distress calls.
