The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has said that there will be no recruitment into the federal civil service until waiver is granted by the Office of  the Head of Service of the Federation.

Dr Tukur lngawa Chairman FCSC, gave the warning in a statement issued by Mrs Eniola Babaoye, Deputy Director Press in FCSC office on Wednesday in Abuja.

Babaoye quoted Ingawa in a statement as saying that “There is no recruitment by the commission until waiver is granted by the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.”

She said lngawa’s immediate commitment after his appointment was to discharge the constitutional mandates given to the commission on the core values of the civil service of the nation.

He said other mandates were to reflect transparency, integrity, meritocracy, accountability among others. Babaoye said FCSC had adhered strictly to the laid down extant rules and regulations since resumption of the present Chairman, Dr Ingawa.

“ln justifying the above mentioned commitments, the Honorable Chairman, rolled out the 2019 Annual Report elucidating the chairman’s score card on the three core departments (Recruitment, Promotion and Discipline).

“Office of the Head of Service of the Federation forwarded a letter (Dated May 15, 2020) of general suspension of recruitment into the Public Service by President Muhammadu Buhari as a result of the effect of COVID-19 on the Federal Government’s Revenue Projections.

“Thus, FCSC did not and will not recruit until waiver is granted by the office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, ” she said.
