My ‘Makosa Praise’ builds faith, brings hope – Ehanire

Rev. Otasowie Ehanire says his released song, ‘Makosa Praise’, is a powerful track designed to build confidence, strengthen faith, and uplift the spirit of listeners in God.
Ehanire, popularly known as Prince Charles in his musical albums, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday that music had always been central to his life and spiritual journey.

He explained that ‘Makosa Praise’ helped shift focus from problems to divine strength, fostering gratitude, resilience against despair, and maintaining a positive and humble mindset anchored in God.

Ehanire said his musical journey was shaped by early family influence and divine encounters, inspiring him to praise God through songs like ‘Okemmuo’ and ‘Makosa Praise’.

He said his parents exposed him to music at a young age, noting that performing at the Apollo Theatre boosted his confidence, while spiritual experiences inspired most of his compositions.

“I didn’t just wake up to become a gospel artist; my inspiration comes from God’s grace and faithfulness.

“All my songs, including ‘Okemmuo’, focus on praising God,” he said.

He added that his music aimed to inspire hope, faith, and resilience, particularly in challenging times, while encouraging people to trust God and embrace a lifestyle of worship.

“My mission is to use music as a tool for transformation and spiritual awakening in a world filled with uncertainty and moral decline,” Ehanire said.

He explained that his purpose went beyond commercial success, describing gospel music as a calling with goals of spreading God’s message globally and mentoring upcoming artists.

According to him, success is measured by lives impacted, not fame or wealth, emphasising that inspiring souls and drawing people closer to God was the ultimate reward.

Ehanire said his songs, especially ‘Okemmuo’, portrayed God as Almighty, Faithful, and Compassionate, encouraging listeners to see God as a loving father involved in human affairs.

The artist identified lack of funding, limited production access, and poor exposure as major challenges facing gospel musicians, stressing the need for stronger industry support.

He added that he had supported at least six upcoming artists through sponsorship, noting that his songs reflected his life testimony and belief in God’s unwavering presence.
