The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to institutionalising a culture of ethical and measurable performance within Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), focusing on accountability, productivity, and the “Renewed Hope Agenda”
The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN said this at the 2025 Reward and Recognition Ceremony held in the ministry on Monday in Abuja.
He described the recognition of high performing individuals and agencies as strategic and firmly rooted in the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (2025) of the Ministerial Deliverables and National Policy on Justice.
“The ministry and its agencies have demonstrated remarkable resilience, aligning operation with national priorities and embedding a culture of results across the justice value chain.’’
He lauded the ministry’s legal officers, administrators, researchers and support staff for the feat recorded and charged them on the need to recommit self to professionalism and collaboration.
In her remarks, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs Beatrice Jedy-Agba described the recipient as those who exceeded the call to duty and demonstrated both courage and a profound sense of responsibility toward the public trust.
She added that the move was to reinforce culture of merit and accountability across the justice sector.
“I urge you to remain committed to addressing institutional and sectoral challenges, with a shared resolve to uphold the rule of law and to deliver justice and services that command full public confidence.”
The Director of Human Resources Management in the Justice Ministry, Mabel Erastus, also in her opening remarks said the measure was part of the Head of the Civil Service resolve to motivate workforce for improved service delivery.
The Ministerial Award Selection Committee awardees were drawn from the ministry headquarters and zonal offices, while the Directorate Level Awardees were drawn from agencies under the ministry.
The awardees were from the NAPTIP, NDLEA, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Nigerian Law School (NIALS), Nigeria Law Reforms Commission (NLRC) among others.
