A Rivers High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has sentenced one Joseph Udoh to death by hanging for killing one Pascal Nnorum, an ex-banker with one of the new generation bank in the state.
The defendant, was charge with one count charge of murder.
Udoh had on May 13, 2017, alleged to have killed the deceased, Nnorum along MTN link road to Aba road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area when the defendant scratched the car of the deceased.
The deceased out of provocation stopped his car and held down the car stirring of the defendant to show his grievance.
The defendant wind up his car glass with the deceased hand on his car stirring dragging him on the ground as he was driving till eight poles, where he smashed the deceased to death on a culvert.
Delivering his judgment, Justice Chiwendu Nworgu ruled that the prosecution has proven their case beyound reasonable doubt that the defendant killed the decease and is found guilty as charged.
The judge further convicted and sentenced the defendant to death by handing on his neck until death.
Mr Edwin Woka, the Counsel to the defendant while speaking to journalists outside the court room, expressed dissatisfaction over the judgment, stating that the judgment would be contested in the appellate court.
Reacting, Mr Gbasan Okogbulam, the state Prosecution Counsel, said he has nothing against the ruling of the court.
