The Comprehensive High School, Ilutitun Old Students’ Association (CHSOSA), Ondo State, will provide Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital training for teachers as part of activities to mark the 50th anniversary of the school.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday by Yemi Akinsuyi, Chairman, Golden Jubilee Publicity Committee of the association.
Akinsuyi said the association would celebrate five decades of academic development, character formation, leadership and service to the community from Sept. 28 to Oct. 4.
She said the school, established 50 years ago, had contributed to the educational development of Ilutitun and its environs and produced graduates who had distinguished themselves in various professions.
According to her, the anniversary is also aimed at reconnecting old students, celebrating past and present stakeholders, honouring deserving individuals and contributing to the continued development of the institution.
She said activities lined up for the celebration included environmental sanitation, tagged “Operation Let the Forest Fall”; football match; tree and flower planting; health talk and the 50th anniversary lecture of the school.
Others, she said, included inter-school quiz and debate competition, the “Let’s See Ilutitun Again” rally and the CHS novelty football match, tagged “The Old versus The New”.
Akinsuyi said the programme would also feature the Golden Jubilee anniversary celebration, dedication of the newly built and furnished “Legacy School Gate”, presentation of awards, fundraising and a luncheon.
She added that the activities would culminate in a Golden Jubilee dinner and networking session and a thanksgiving service on Oct. 4 at the Cathedral of Ebenezer, Diocese on the Coast, Ilutitun-Osooro.
Akinsuyi said the association’s President, High Chief Olusegun Netufo, described the anniversary as an opportunity to celebrate the school’s heritage, achievements and contributions to the community.
She quoted Netufo as saying that the celebration would also reaffirm the commitment of old students and other stakeholders to the continued development of the institution.
Similarly, the Chairman and Co-Chairman of the Anniversary Fundraising and Planning Committee, Rev. Sunday Akingbelure and Dr Olorunyomi Akinboyo, respectively, urged members of the association and the public to support the development of the school.
Akinsuyi called on old students, current students, staff, parents, traditional institutions, government representatives, community leaders and other stakeholders to participate in the anniversary.
She said the celebration would provide an opportunity for stakeholders to reconnect with the school, celebrate its achievements and contribute to its future development.
