The Police, on Friday, arraigned two men, Babatunde Alade and Shittu Owolabi, at an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over alleged threat to life.
Alade, 42, and Owolabi, 42, whose addresses were not provided, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, breach of peace and threat to life.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Olagoke Adegbenro, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Dec. 7, 2025, at 12.40 p.m. at Alakia area of Ibadan.
Adegbenro said that the defendants chased the complainant, Mr Bashiru Afolabi, from his land and threatened to kill him with cutlasses and some dangerous weapons.
Adegbenro said the defendants breached public peace by chasing the complainant and his workers form the land, which they claimed had been sold to them.
He said the offences contravened Sections 249(d), 323 and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N1 million each, with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to Feb. 24 for mention.
