Gov. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Monday swore in 14 new commissioners and seven special advisers.
Akeredolu also inaugurated the director- general of the Project Implementation Monitoring Unit (PIMU) at the International Culture and Event Centre, Akure.
The new Commissioners are; Mr Adegboyega Adefarati, Mrs Ademola-Olateju Bamidele, Mrs Adeyanju Yetunde, Mr Olufemi Agagu, Dr Ajaka Awolowo, Mr Akinlosotu Adewale and Mr Akinwalire Sunday.
Others are; Mr Aribo Olayato, Mrs Juliana Omolola, Mr Igbasan Emmanuel, Mr Rasaq Ayodele, Mr Ologun Bamidele, Mr Fatai Olotu and Mrs Juliana Adebunmi.
The Special Advisers are; Dr John Ajibayo, Mr Ategbole Olusegun, Prof. Francis Faduyile, Mrs Falana Juliana, Dr Juliet Olawunmi, Mr Tobi Ogunleye and Mr Niyi Oseni.
Mr Babajide Akeredolu was appointed the Director-General of the Project Implementation Monitoring Unit (PIMU).
The governor who said the state has a lot of qualified men and women to be in his cabinet, charged the new appointees to be hardworking, deligent and focused in their various offices.
He charged them to work with their heads of department, agencies and permanent secretaries, and show leadership qualities to earn respect from the people.
Akeredolu appealed to workers in the state service to cooperate with the political appointees toward putting an end to ghost worker syndrome, promising that he would not owe workers’ salary before leaving office.
“Now, we have full state executive and we are almost a year in our second term. So, we need to remain focused and most importantly, we will not be distracted by comments or condemnations from any quarters.
“Like I said, I am assuring our civil sevants that they will smile home this Christmas. If it means borrowing, we will borrow to pay salaries,” he said.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Mr Olufemi Agagu appreciated the governor for counting them worthy of the appointment, assuring him of their unflinching support.
“In Ondo state, there are highly qualified, intelligent and competent people but Mr governor selected us to serve our dear state.
“I can assure you our governor that in any capacity we found ourselves, we will not disappoint you. We will be committed to our job and our loyalty will be 100 per cent,” he said.
Akeredolu had on March 16 inaugurated four commissioners at the beginning of his second term in office.
