The Speaker, Kwara House of Assembly. Mr Salihu Danladi, has charged officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force to always maintain high moral values and integrity to attain an egalitarian society.
The speaker gave the task in llorin on Sunday while receiving 12 newly commissioned Police Constables, all indigenes with Danladi from Baruten Local Government Area of the state.
The 12 police constables, who have just completed their training at the Police College, paid the speaker a courtesy and thank you visit in Ilorin.
Danladi said a responsible police with high moral values and integrity was the cornerstone of any nation aspiring to become great.
The speaker charged the new police recruits to conduct themselves with integrity in the course of discharging their duties.
He congratulated them on their successful recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force and advised them not to disconnect themselves from their origin.
He said: “I urge you all to be good ambassadors of Baruten, protect the dignity of Kwara state and make a difference in the policing of Nigeria.
“I am confident you all will be our source of pride and reignite public confidence in the Police Force,” the speaker added.
He also charged them to always support government at all levels and ensure the safety of lives and properties of citizens and government at all times.
In his remark, the member representing Okuta/Yashikira constituency in the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Mohammed Saliu, admonished the newly commissioned constables to be of good character while discharging their duties.
The Commissioner for Energy, Mr Aliyu Sabi, also advised the constables to be focused and goal driven in the execution of duties assigned to them.
Speaking earlier on behalf of his colleagues, Mallam Idris Abdulmaliq, appreciated the speaker for his magnanimity.
Idris promised that they would be diligent and faithful in discharging their duties.
