Police confirm 10 killed in bandits’ attack in Sokoto

The Police Command in Sokoto State, has confirmed 10 persons killed following bandits attack on Friday morning in Tara village, Sabon Birni Local Governent Area.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Sunusi Abubakar, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that three other persons injured during the attack  were currently receiving treatment at the Orthopedic Hospital, Wamakko.

According to Abubakar, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Kamaldeen Okunlola, had met with the people of the community and assured them of proper security measures to avoid further occurrence.

“We, at the command, are highly shocked with the story of the incident which claimed no fewer than 10 lives, we are deeply touched by the situation.

“However, the command had deployed more security to the affected area and environ to ensure that the perpetrators of such acts are brought to book.

“As such, we appeal to the good people of Sokoto to continue to cooperate with security agencies toward ending any act of criminality across the state,” he said.

He further urged the people of the state to be cautious of any strange movement around them and to report all security threat to the appropriate authorities.
