The Nigeria Air Force (NAF) has neutralised scores of bandits in air missions across Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Igabi, Kachia and Chikun Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
The operation covered various villages in the five local government areas including areas where bandits recently attacked some communities.
Mr Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs said in a statement on Tuesday in Kaduna that dozens of bandits with herds of cattle were neutralised at Rugu while fleeing from the fighter jet.
According to him, a similar mission carried out over Baba Doka, Sabon Madada, Goron Dutse and environs, neutralised bandits sighted in a convoy of motorcycles moving from Baba Maichoko.
He further explained that more bandits sighted at different locations within Gajere were neutralised in the forested locations.
Aruwan said armed reconnaissance was conducted in several areas including Rigasa, Faka, Kawuri, Kusasu, Chikun, Gwagwada, Gadani, Gadani Station, Kugo, Kugosi, Tawalli, Kofa, Sarkin Pawa, Sarkin Pawa-Polewire road and environs, among others.
“Further vigorous ground and air patrols will continue in the general area,” he added.
