Police arrest 2 alleged kidnappers, 3 car snatchers in Kwara

The  Police Command in Kwara have arrested two suspected kidnappers, three car thieves allegedly  terrorising Gbu-gbu area of kwara.

The State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Lawal-Bagega disclosed this while parading the suspects on Wednesday in Ilorin.

He said the suspected kidnappers are; Umaru Mohammed and Mohammed Tambaya and they were among the syndicate that abducted four Turkish citizens in Edu Local Government Area of the state sometime in July 2019.

He added that the suspects also confessed to have participated in several other kidnap incidents especially along Enugu/Abakaliki

The CP explained that the other three suspects were arrested for allegedly stealing cars in various locations in the state.

He said further that  one of  the suspects of stolen Golf 3 with registration number PTG 01 XA was arrested which led to arrest of his two other accomplices at Gbugbu via Lafiage.

The police boss said the two Ak47 rifles, without magazines, were recovered from a motorcyclist who escaped during a stop and search, while a black bag containing the rifles fell off from his motorcycle at Oreke/Babanla area of kwara.

According to him, the command has also arrested one Akinsola Babatunde, a.k.a Mr .White, for allegedly organising a naked party in Ilorin
