Following the recent outbreak of coronavirus in the country, the 9 Brigade Nigerian Army on Wednesday launched a new hand-washing device in Ikeja Cantonment, Onigbongbo Barracks, Lagos state.
Major N F Echie, the project officer, said the hand-washing device will help to fight and tackle the spread of the dreaded pandemic.
“The device has a one thousand liters capacity, and would serve the users for a period of three days thereafter to be refilled”.
Echie said that continuous hand wash for 20 seconds is preferable to alcohol based hand sanitizers.
“On the right side, there is a device which when you press with your foot the liquid soap will be released, you don’t need to use your hand on anything.
“After applying the soap on your hand, press the device on the left side with your foot, and water will come out.
“Immediately you finish washing your hands, you use tissue to dry your hands,” he said.
