Hundreds of protesters gathered near the capitol building in the U.S. city of Denver on Sunday to oppose the Colorado state governor’s stay-at-home order.
Protesters are calling on Governor Jared Polis to reopen the state’s economy, arguing that lockdown measures meant to blunt the spread of the coronavirus are causing too much harm to residents’ livelihoods.
Some signs protesters carried read “unemployment takes lives, too” and “I would rather risk coronavirus than socialism,” according to local news site Denverite.
