Weekend Football Guide: El Clásico, Premier League Action on SuperSport

It’s another unmissable weekend of football across Europe as title races, rivalries, and redemption stories unfold in the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A. Fans can catch all the action live on DStv and GOtv, exclusively on SuperSport.

Premier League: Arsenal Push On, United Build Momentum

The Premier League serves up a stacked weekend of headline fixtures. On Saturday, Chelsea host Sunderland at 3:00 p.m. Enzo Maresca’s side are flying, with 11 goals in their last three games, including a 5–1 demolition of Ajax in midweek.

At 5:30 p.m., Manchester United face Brighton at Old Trafford. Ruben Amorim’s men are full of confidence after their 2–1 win at Anfield, while Brighton continue their run as unpredictable giant-killers. Later at 8:00 p.m., Brentford host Liverpool in what could prove a key moment for Arne Slot’s side, who remain winless in three league games despite a big European win.

Sunday’s action sees Arsenal host Crystal Palace at 2:00 p.m. Mikel Arteta’s men have won six in a row, conceding just once, as they aim to tighten their grip on top spot. City also travel to Villa at the same time.

All Premier League matches air live on SS Premier League (GOtv Ch. 65, DStv Ch. 203)..

La Liga: All Eyes on El Clásico

In Spain, the spotlight falls on one of world football’s greatest rivalries as Real Madrid host Barcelona in the first El Clásico of the season.

The weekend begins on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. between Valencia and Villarreal, a fixture known for intensity and unpredictability. Villarreal, currently third in La Liga, will look to bounce back from their midweek defeat to Man City.

Spain takes centre stage on Sunday as Real Madrid welcome Barcelona to the Santiago Bernabéu at 3:15 p.m. Xabi Alonso’s Madrid remain unbeaten and lead the table by two points, while Hansi Flick’s Barcelona arrive buoyed by a 6–1 European win over Olympiakos. The winner takes both top spot and bragging rights in Spain…

Catch all La Liga games live on SS La Liga (GOtv Ch. 62, DStv Ch. 204).

Serie A: Napoli Seek Response, Inter Eye Top Spot

In Italy, the Serie A title race continues to heat up with crucial encounters across the weekend. Saturday’s 5:00 p.m. clash between Napoli and Inter Milan headlines the weekend. Antonio Conte’s champions have stumbled in recent weeks, while Cristian Chivu’s Inter are unbeaten in five and closing fast in the title race.

On Sunday at 7:45 p.m., Lazio host Juventus. Igor Tudor’s Juventus are winless in seven, while Lazio seek a much-needed victory after consecutive draws..

All Serie A matches will be broadcast live on SS Africa 2 (GOtv Ch. 64, DStv Ch. 208).

Ligue 1: PSG Tested as Marseille, Lens and Lyon Chase

There are several top-table clashes in France this weekend as the Ligue 1 title race begins to take shape. On Saturday at 4:00 p.m., Paris Saint-Germain visit Brest looking to build on their 7–2 midweek rout of Leverkusen.

Later at 8:05 p.m., Lens host league leaders Marseille in a fiery northern derby. Sunday closes with Lyon versus Strasbourg at 8:45 p.m., as both teams fight to stay in the top four.
