Mr Abiodun Olaniyi, Project Consultant of the Nigeria International Agriculture Expo (NIAE), says the 2025 edition, which will be the seventh in the series, will spark a revolution in the Agriculture value chain.

Olaniyi said this at a news conference on the 7th NIAE Expo which has the theme `Showcasing Nigeria’s Agricultural Potential on a Global Stage,” on Wednesday in Abuja.

GFHnews reports that the 7th Nigeria International Agriculture Expo will take place August 26-28 at the Abuja Trade and Convention Centre, Lugbe.

The consultant said that the expo will bring together farmers, agribusiness investors, policymakers, and international delegates to explore opportunities across the entire agricultural value chain.

“This expo will serve as a global marketplace for innovation, trade, and investment in agriculture, projecting Nigeria as a major hub for agribusiness in Africa, from production to processing, distribution, and export.

“It will help in showcasing local innovation, empowering women in agribusiness, and connecting farmers to international markets, strengthening Nigeria’s role in global food security and sustainable agriculture.

“it will also address the persistent challenges in agriculture sector such as post-harvest losses, poor access to finance, and inefficiencies in logistics and supply chains’’.

He advised that Nigeria should not just be about operating upstream, but about Nigeria operating in all sectors: upstream, downstream, and midstream.

“In the last edition, we had visitors from around the world; over 10 countries participated, and these included Russia, India, the United States, Estonia, and China, among others.

Mr Adekunle Adamson, Regional Project Lead for the NIAE, said the 2025 edition will highlight Farmers Day and promote women entrepreneurs.

He said that a sub-event, called Farmers Day would celebrate farmers, to enhance inclusivity.

“We mobilise farmers through various farming associations and organisations, and arrange dedicated schemes and trainings for them to participate in so that when they return to their various locations, they will be able to apply what they learned at this event to improve their outputs.

“We also created the Women Entrepreneurship Hub because women are very critical in this sector, yet they are not sufficiently spotlighted.

“In this edition, we will ensure that women and youths receive attention, so we created this hub specifically for them.

“This hub will exhibit big-time farmers, manufacturers, equipment importers, women, and entrepreneurs involved in small-scale farming, provide training on packaging, marketing, and presenting their goods to the public for wider acceptance’’.

He called on all stakeholders to leverage on the expo to promote agricultural progress in the nation.
