Taraba varsity among the highest paid in the Nigeria

Prof. John Ajayi, a professor of Mathematics Education in Taraba State University (TSU) Jalingo, says  the university is  among the highest paid  in Nigeria  at the moment.

Ajayi made the declaration in an interview with newsmen on Friday in Jalingo.

He noted that the  institution has emerged as Nigeria’s leading higher educational  institution in terms of welfare and quality, under Gov. Agbu Kefas of Taraba as the visitor to the university.

He plauded the governor for successfully addressing the longstanding challenges that once hindered the university’s growth in recent time.

He also commended Kefas for his resolution of  the protracted pension issue, for  which the University suffered negkect over the years.

“The recent adjustment of the minimum wage to ₦70,000, alongside the mainstreaming of Peculiar allowances into monthly salaries, has further bolstered the institution’s reputation.

“These measures placed TSU among Nigeria’s top universities, offering competitive remuneration to academic staff.

“After years of neglect, the university staff can now benefit from a functional pension scheme, marking a turning point in their welfare.
