Akwa Ibom: Umo Eno signs ₦955bn 2025 budget into law

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has signed the ₦955 billion budget for the 2025 financial year into law.

The signing took place one week after the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly passed the budget, christened the “Budget of Consolidation and Expansion.”

In a statement released yesterday in Uyo, Governor Eno assented to the bill on Monday at the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Uyo.

Speaking after the ceremony, Governor Eno commended the State House of Assembly for the swift passage of the budget and praised the harmonious relationship between the executive and the legislature.

He urged for continued collaboration and synergy to ensure the delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Akwa Ibom.

The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly had on Tuesday, December 24, passed the 2025 budget into law after adopting the report of the House Committee on Appropriation and Finance.

The ₦955 billion budget comprises: ₦300 billion allocated for recurrent expenditure

₦655 billion allocated for capital expenditure

This represents a 3% increase from the ₦923.412 billion revised provision for 2024.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Udeme Otong, members of the State Executive Council, and other members of the State Legislature were present at the budget-signing ceremony.
