Cross River National Park CP, Caroline Olori gets international appointment

The quality of manpower in the National Park Service has gained international recognition with the appointment of CP Caroline Olory as the First In – Person International Alumni Coach, representing Africa by United States Fish and Wildlife Service International Conservation Chiefs Academy.

The Service’s Public Relations Officer, CP Emmanuel Ntuyang disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.

He said the appointment follows Olory’s impressive performance at the academy’s critical training programs which took place recently in the United States of America.

Commenting on the appointment, the Conservator General, National Park Service, Dr Ibrahim Goni said the development is an additional impetus to the Service’s consistent drive for high quality manpower for natural resource conservation in Nigeria.

He thanked the United States Fish and Wildlife Service for the partnership with Nigeria National Park Service through training, in the effort to achieve global Conservation goals, especially at a time the world is burdened by a myraid of environmental challenges.

United States Fish and Wildlife Service works to conserve, protect and enhance fish, wildlife and plants along with their habitats, while assisting foreign governments with their international conservation efforts in preventing and combating wildlife trafficking.

CP Caroline Olory, a 1991graduate of Botany of the University of Calabar and a Fellow of Wildlife Society of Nigeria, is currently the Conservator of Park in charge of Cross River National Park.

She is the first Nigerian woman to be charged with such a responsibility.
