The Chief Imam of Ibrahim Hassan Islamic Foundation and Chief missioner IKHWATUL- ISLAM Society of Nigeria, Sheik Muhammad Yaqub Aliagan is set to present a new set of Islamic Books for both primary and secondary schools to Academic experts, education authorities and the general public at University of Lagos, Mosque Hall come Thursday, 25th August, 2022 by 11am prompt.
The books are billed to be presented under the Chairmanship of Alhaji Rafiu Ebiti, Pro-Chancellor, Summit University, Offa, Kwara State and Alhaja Muinat Alake Shopeyin, Iya Suna of Lagos state. The National Missioner of Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, Sheikh (Dr) Ahmad Abdur-Rahman is the Guest Speaker at the occasion while Prof. Musa Ismail and Dr Khadijat Olaniyan Shobowale are to review the Books.
Eminent Guests of Honour are the Deputy Governor of Lagos, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hamsat, Senator Gbemisola Saraki, Minister of state, Powers and Steel, Sayyid Umar Akanoglu, the Director of NUSRET, South West Nigeria, Honourable Rasak Olusola Ajala and Honourable Otunba Adebayo Olasoju.
Other expected eminent guests at the occasion are Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, fsc, the President of Muslim Ummah South West Nigeria ( MUSWEN ), Engr Waheed Olalere,, President IKHWATUL- ISLAM Society of Nigeria, Sheikh Sulaiman Abou Nolla, the Chief Imam of Lagos state, Sheikh Sulaiman Faruq, Grand Mufti of Ilorin , Alh. Murthada Balogun, a prominent NACOMYO Lagos leader and Hon. Dr Abdul-Lateef Abdul-Akeem.
Aliagan who has been an erudite Islamic teacher, consumate academic, prolific writer and firm preacher for more than three decades brought his over two decades of experience to bear in the content of the books.
Aliagan, one of the pioneer Murshid of NACOMYO Lagos state has worked with SOS children’s Village, Isolo Lagos before moving to join Turkish International College in Lagos. He is, presently, a Senior Education Officer at NUSRET, an International Educational and Cultural Company based in Lagos.
Aliagan is a product of Al-Mahadu Al-Diniy , Al-Azhariy (Al-Adaby) Arabic Institute , Ilorin. He obtained B.A Hons in Arabic from Bayero University, Kano and M.Ed. Curriculum Studies from University of Lagos.
Without any doubt, Aliagan’s wealth of experience and knowledge is demonstrated in the carefully selected contents he had made available for Muslim children in these book series with relevant, colourful illustrations.
In his chat with selected newsmen, Aliagan noted that it has been his choice to be a teacher and mentor to children particularly at the early stage in order to build moral and religious education in children as future leaders. This goal, he said, he has been working towards for a long time.
He added that the same dream had informed his decision to write these books to the benefit of Muslim Ummah, most especially pupils and students at early levels of education.
Aliagan said the books are carefully written in line with current Arabic and Islamic Studies Curriculum for primary and secondary schools in Nigeria.
