Gov. Abubakar Bello of Niger is currently holding a meeting with the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) at the party’s natioal secretariat in Abuja.
At the time of filing this report, all members of the committee are in attendance including its Secretary, Sen. John Akpanudoedrhe.
Sani Bello who arrived the party secretariat at about 12 noon was ushered in by large crowd of party supporters and staff.
He then went straight to the National Working Committee (NWC) hall to await other members of the committee.
On his trail were the Women representative in CECPC, Stella Okotete, the Youth Leader, Ismail Ahmed and Mr David Lyon.
Also in attendance were Prof. Tahir Mamman, Sen. Ali Abba, Sen. Ken Nnamani and Sen. Yusuf Yusuf.
When contacted, Bello said, “we are only having our regular caretaker committee meeting.
“We are yet to take decisions on anything.
Some of the committee members who spoke with newsmen said a meeting was earlier held at Sen. Nanamani’s residence before the ongoing meeting at the party headquarters.
The APC National Convention has been slated for March 26, to elect new national executives of the part currently being managed by the CECPC.
A section of the media had at the weekend reported that President Muhammad Buhari had sacked Buni as the Chairman of the APC CECPC and appointed Gov. Sani Bello of Niger, as sole administrator of the party.
