From Kayode Lawal Abuja.

Leader of the Biafran Nation agitators, Nnamdi Kanu has engaged the services of a constitutional lawyer and human rights activist, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN to fortify his defense in the fresh terrorism charges brought against him by the federal government.

Ozekhome stormed the federal high court in company of Ifeanyi Ejiofor who had been earlier leading the team of lawyers for Kanu.

Ejiofor confirmed to newsmen that changes have been effected in the defense team in view of the new challenges from the federal government.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at the court premises and its environs.

All roads leading to the court have been effectively blocked by operatives of the Department of the State Service DSS to ward off possible threat to life and businesses by hoodlums.

At exactly 9;50am, leader of the Biafran Nation agitators Nnamdi Kanu stormed the court room of the federal high court in Abuja in preparation for his fresh a arraignment on 15 count terrorism charges.

He was welcomed into the court room by four members of his family.and later exchanged pleasantries with his lawyers led by Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN.

Kanu who was in the dock took his plea before Justice Binta Nyako court.

Shuaib Labaran is leading the prosecution while Ozekhome is leading defense.

FG debunked allegations made by Kanu on feeding, practice of his religion, denial of access to family members while not objecting to adjournment request by Kanu.

However, Ozekhome claimed that the proof of evidence is not legible enough for their understanding of the fresh charges.

Court adjourned to tomorrow January 19, 2022 for continuation of Kanu’s plea.

Meanwhile court directs Kanu to meet with his lawyers inside the court room for some minutes before taking into custody
