Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers has presented a budget of N483 billion for 2022 to the state House of Assembly for approval.
Presenting the budget tagged “budget of consolidation”on Friday in Port Harcourt, Wike said it was made up of N314 billion capital expenditure, representing 70 per cent and N144 billion recurrent expenditure, representing 30 per cent.
He said that the 2022 capital expenditure was N7 billion higher than the 2021 figure of N305 billion.
Responding, the Speaker of the House, Mr Ikunyi-owaji Ibani noted that the governor’s achievements in 2021 were quite commendable.
Ibani said that the revenue performance of the state went above 80 per cent as at October and expressed confidence in the governor’s aspiration in 2022.
“The policy thrust of the governor in 2022 has been elaborately outlined to the knowledge of Rivers people and as representatives, we commend your achievements.
