The Global Alliance on Health and Pollution (GAHP) reported that Nigeria leads Africa in the total annual number of premature pollution-linked deaths. The Global Pollution and Health Metrics in 2019 published that at this rate the country will be experiencing at least 300,000 deaths yearly due to environmental degradation and pollution.
There has been a continuous rise in the death rate due to environmental pollution and increased heat radiation emitted by gas flares coupled with a mess of oil spillages destroying our farmlands, polluting our water bodies and restricting our access to potable water. This is indeed worrisome and alarming, to say the least.
We are to rescue our environment from environmental Polluters. Who are ‘WE’? you may ask.
We are Alliance for Green Environment (AGE), founded in January 2021 by Oluwatosin Selomeh Ogunlana and Daniel Dele-Yaro to ensure the sustainability of a green environment globally.
The Alliance for Green Environment (AGE) is an environmental advocacy Non-Governmental Organization. AGE is a youth-led initiative currently comprising 20 Volunteers to promote a clean and healthy environment globally. Their mission is to be the bedrock for environmental awareness and advocacy globally by promoting green technology and environmentally friendly contracts, laws, and policies, thereby making the world a healthier place for all.
AGE aims to facilitate the creation of awareness and provision of primary education via programs to the public on effective means of ensuring a sustainable environmental practice geared towards a green environment.
Also, AGE intend to carry out various sustainable development community projects to facilitate and enhance the living standards of environmentally degraded communities.
To this extent, AGE is resolute on educating the entire world through the publication of reports, case studies, and journals on issues relating to environmental sustainability and sustainable ecological practices. We also intend to organize webinars, conferences, pieces of training, campaigns geared towards environmental sustainability.
Considering that a safe and environment is our rights, AGE seeks to foster the environmental human rights of individuals and communities through advocacy.
AGE intends to partner with governmental institutions and non-governmental organizations to ensure environmental rights by advocating for the governmental and private utilization of renewable energy technologies.
By 2030, AGE seeks to impact the international world and rely on its growing members ranging from students, educators, scientists, environmentalists, sponsors, partners, and activists.
We believe this will contribute significantly to the realization of the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals.
AGE TO THE RESCUE !!
