A mother of two, Mrs Helen lluobe is demanding justice from her husband who she said deceived her with his genotype status before marriage and which has resulted in her having three children with sickle cell disorder.

Iluobe who narrated her ordeal told our correspondent that the husband, Mr Kelly Iluobe lied about his genotype for selfish reasons.

“It all started when a family friend came with Mr Iluobe to my birthday party and he introduced him to me.

” He asked for my contact number which I refused to give him. After two weeks he came back to our house, met my father and introduced himself.

“He told my father that he was at my birthday party and that he liked me, so we courted for two years.

Mrs Iluobe said that when they were dating she asked the husband about his genotype status because her family genotype is AS but he told her he was AA.

“During that period of our courtship, he claimed to be a business man who stayed abroad, so he was often in and out of the country. “We eventually got married.

“Unfortunately, my first child died mysteriously, the second was hospitalized before I ask the hospital to conduct genotype test on the children.

“The result showed that both of them have sickle cell disorder”.

She said that all this while the husband was still in and out of the country, so when the child died he sent his elder brother to her parents demanding to know what happened to the child before he will be buried and also consulted the elders in the village before the child was buried.

She said that fter the genotype results came out she did not see her husband again and that he only sent his elder brother who came with flimsy excuses.

“Any time the children are in crisis and I call his family members there will be no good response until September 2020 when my husband remarried without asking for me and his children.

Gfhnews.com gathered that Advocates for  Children and Vulnerable Persons Network ACVPN, received a complaint from one Mrs Iluobe on how her husband absconded for four years, and instituted a petition asking the Inspector General of Police to intervene.

” However, Mr Kelly Iluobe who was invited on several occasions never reported to the station until his elder brother and friend were arrested”.

She revealed that Mr Iluobe claimed he had travelled to Ethiopia on business at the request of his elder brother.

He was also said to have told his wife that he was in Brazil and promised to report immediately he returned to Nigeria.

Surprisedly, Mr. Illuobe returned and  took a petition to the Adminstration Unit of FCID, Alagbon where he accused his wife of theft and using the police to harass him.

Our correspondent also learnt that the first meeting for both parties was fixed for the 17th and 18th of June 2021 at FCID where drama ensued.

“The IPO Tayo Alagono tried to play smart by trying to make the complainant a suspect but the advocates stood their ground that such should not happen.

“They said that Mr Kelly Iluobe was invited by the Anti-human Trafficking unit SCID Panti  but he never honoured the invitation until after his elder brother and friend who stood as surety were arrested”.

She said that Mr Iluobe told various lies against her and her family before the ACP Rasheed Lawal in charge of the Admin Unit in FCID.

Mrs Iluobe urged the police to carry out a thorough investigation of the case so that justice would prevail.
