Police confirm 10 killed in bandits’ attack in Sokoto

The Commissioner of Police in Imo, CP Abutu Yaro has charged the special patrol team newly constituted by the command to recover all arms from the bandits who were terrorising the state.

Yaro gave the charge while addressing the team known as “Operation Search and Flush” on Saturday in Imo.

He said all the arms and ammunitions that were in the hands of bandits must be recovered and  peace must be brought back to Imo.

I need new spirit of achievement, you must be result oriented driven, go and recover more arms from the bandit.

We must neutralise the bandits and add our armoury with their own.

“You must maintain visibility and make your presence known in Imo, I need operational patrol, not ceremonial patrol”, he said.

The CP urged the officers to ensure that every vehicle with tinted windows and vehicles without number plates were properly scrutinised.

“This special patrol team will be reporting to me directly daily with a report of success.

We must bring back peace to Imo, that is my mandate here and it must be accomplished”, he said.

Yaro assumed office as CP in April.
