Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have on Friday sealed the Gusau private residence of a former member representing Kaura-Namoda/Birnin-Magaji federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Alhaji Sanin Jaji.
The residents of the neighbourhood told Newsmen that they woke up to see the house which is situated in Tudun Wada area of the state capital marked EFCC and ‘under investigation’ with red paint.
Also security men guarding the house said, “we were inside and did not know when the house was marked or by who, we only woke up this morning to notice this.
“We immediately reported the new development to our master who said he had already been informed and that we should not worry,” one of the guards stated.
When contacted via phone call, Jaji who was Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Security, one time Chairman of Birnin-Magaji local government and a governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) said he had no idea why his house was marked by the anti graft commission.
“Nobody invited or intimated me either at EFCC or anywhere regarding any case and as such, was really surprised to wake up and hear that my personal residence was marked by the EFCC.
“Nothing is impossible, but to the best of my knowledge, I don’t have any case with anybody and even if someone had written a petition against me, I should have been copied or invited for questioning that is why am stil in doubt if this action is actually from the EFCC,” Jaji added.
He however thanked his friends, supporters and well-wishers for their concern over the matter and urged them to remain calm while he investigates what really happened.
