No fewer than three persons lost their lives while four others were injured on Tuesday as a container fell on an 18-seater bus at Celica Area along lbadan – Ife Expressway.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander in Oyo State, Mrs Uche Chukwurah, confirmed this on Tuesday in Ibadan.
Chukwurah said seven people were involved in the accident while two Males and a female who lost their lives were trapped in the ditch when the container fell and push the bus inside the ditch.
She further said that the remaining four persons that were injured consist of three males and a female.
The sector commander blamed the accident on brake failure which led to a loss of control by the vehicle carrying the container.
Chukwurah said the corpses of the deceased had been deposited at the hospital while the injured were being treated.
She further said that the FRSC Unit Commander in the area just left the scene having removed the fallen container which had caused a traffic gridlock on the road. This ensured a free flow of traffic.
