The Police Command in Oyo State, says it has rescued a foreigner, Hassan Mills, kidnapped on Saturday, from his abductors.
Mills, a Lebanese, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Saturday at about 5:23pm at the entrance to his Panarama Farm Mekun,Oke Alaro area of Ibadan.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed the rescue in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday in Ibadan.
Fadeyi said information from the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Oke Alaro, indicated that Mills had been rescued from his captors and reunited with his family.
He further said that the victim had been taken to hospital for medical attention.
Fadeyi, however, denied online reports indicating that police officers involved in the rescue operation were kidnapped.
“No Police officer involved in the rescue operation was kidnapped and the trending statement from mischievous writers online should be disregarded, please, ” the PPRO said.
