The International Climate Change Development Initiative (ICCDI) and Climate and Sustainable Development Network of Nigeria (CSDevNet) say they have adapted a virtual alternative to hosting their next #SDGs4Universities project.
Seyifunmi Adebote, the State Coordinator, ICCDI Africa who disclosed this in a statement in Abuja said the project was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and complicated by the prolonged ASUU strike in the country.
The #SDGs4Universities is designed to expose students across various tertiary institutions to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) framework and how to take innovative actions in their local community that promote the 17 goals.
This virtual edition of #SDGs4Universities will take a symposium format and will explore Economic, Environment & Social impact of the #SDGs & the roles of youths towards achieving the #SDGs.
The 3-day event with the theme “Accelerating Actionable Plans for Sustainable Development Goals Post COVID-19” will hold from 25th to 27th November 2020, between 10.00 AM and 1.00 PM WAT via zoom.
While this is different from the usual physical gathering of students for the #SDGs4Universities event, this virtual event is not restricted by location or types of a tertiary institution, as students are encouraged to partake by signing up via https://bit.ly/SDGs4UniversitiesSymposium
