Gov. Samuel Ortom of Benue has constituted a committee to investigate alleged diversion of palliatives and fertiliser meant for Oju Local Government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Terver Akase.
The committee is to be headed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSSG), Prof Anthony Ijohor.
Other members are the Chief of Staff to the governor, Mr Terwase Orbunde and Special Adviser, Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Kenneth Achabo and the Special Adviser on Security, retired Col. Paul Hemba, would serve on the committee.
Ortom said the committee was set up due to the alarm raised by people in the council area.
He assured those who felt shortchanged in the distribution of the palliatives in Oju and raised alarm, that their grievances will be addressed.
