The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, said that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has remain focused in its determination to eliminate the remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in North East.
Abubakar gave the assurance Saturday during lunch organized for officers and airmen engaged in the fight against insurgency at the Yola Air Force Base to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
The CAS who was represented by NAF Chief of Communication and Information System, AVM Paul Dimfwina, said that he was satisfied with the troops high spirit and level of combat readiness.
“We are committed to ensuring the total elimination of insurgency in our country and the race to add value to our societies and secure our communities, there is no finishing line.
“The essence of the Eid -el Kabir get together is to help fill void created by not being able to celebrate with our families because you are deployed at the front line. ”
In addition, it also to foster comradeship and give us the opportunity to commend ourselves for our efforts in the fight against insurgency. ”
let me seize this opportunity to commend the Air Task Force Commander for his efforts at ensuring that the units in the North East remained undaunted and committed to Tue war against insurgency ” Abubakar said.
He thanked the personnel in all the units for their contributions and sacrifice made in support of the Operation He said that the NAF would allow room to be taken unawares because of the enormous responsibility it bear in ensuring the indivisibility of the country. ”
Let me reassure us all that procurement of the additional platforms such as the super Tucano aircraft and other platforms would certainly be a game changer for our operations. ”
Having said this, I must also utilize this occasion to appreciate the President and Commander In – Chief , President Muhammadu Buhari ,who provides us with the resources we require to perform our assigned duties.”
The CAS expressed gratitude to president Buhari for the presidential is support to the Nigerian Air Force adding that the air force would continue to remain a disciplined force with high level of professionalism in all it activities.
In his remark, Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa thanked the NAF for its active contribution to security in Adamawa and assured it of his administration support at all time.
Fintiri, represented by the Deputy Governor, Mr Crowther Seth, said that his administration would to continue to collaborate and accord maximum support to NAF in the fight against insurgency.
