The Anti-Deforestation Taskforce set up by Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River, has announced a ban on illegal logging across the state.
The order was contained in a press release signed by the Chairman of the Taskforce, Mr Agan Modey on Monday in Calabar.
Modey also warned persons parading themselves as taskforce agents to desist from doing so as anyone caught would face the full wrath of the law.
“For the records, the taskforce wishes to inform members of the public that anyone who operates with any purported taskforce agents do so at his/her own risk.
“Finally, any individual or group of persons found defaulting this order will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly,” he stated.
