The Arewa Youth Assembly has commended the giant strides of Mallam Bello Maigari, the Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF) on the occasion of his one year in office.
Hon MD Salihu, the Speaker, AREWA Youth Assembly made the commendation in a congratulatory message he issued in Abuja.
He said that Maigari is reforming the Fund for efficiency and effectiveness, taking into consideration the giant and significant strides he has exhibited since joining the body in 2011.
“Since he rose to become the Executive Secretary in 2019, NLTF has experienced tremendous reform and well-meaning restructuring.
“He has continued to exhibit a youth-friendly disposition and humane care for all and sundry.
“As the head of the Fund, he has served diligently with all sincerity of purpose and has always been at the forefront, supporting the development of youths in Nigeria.”
He said Maigari, as CEO of the National Lottery Trust Fund, is indeed worthy of emulation by the younger generation, whose achievements are a clear manifestation of competence and credibility.
He said his achievements have justified the confidence reposed on him by His President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, in finding him worthy to pilot the activities of the Lottery Trust Fund.
Salihu said Maigari has restated the commitment of the Lottery Trust Fund to invest in sports Development with revenues generated from Sports betting.
“Maigari’s stewardship for the past one year has been characterized by massive achievements which have been impactful and multi-dimensional.
“It also cuts across all aspects of human endeavour, including the health sector, by providing health care facilities for rural communities.
“Most recent was his support for the fight against COVID-19 at Daura, Katsina State and other parts of the country in the effort to tackle the global pandemic’’.
He added that Maigari has continued to partner with stakeholders to promote sports and educational development and social services to support physically challenged persons.
“He is indeed repositioning the Fund for more efficient service delivery to customers as well as the digitalization of the platforms of the NLTF.
“He has through the Fund distributed world-class sports equipment to 2,017 public primary schools in the 36 States of the federation and the FCT.
“This is unprecedented in the history of NLTF and in the history of sports development in the country.”
The speaker wished him greater heights and more exploits as he blossoms in his humanitarian services.
