GANGSTERS WREAK HAVOC IN AJAH, SET HOUSES, SHOPS ABLAZE

Pandemonium erupted in Ajah area of Lagos State today as hoodlums unleash terror on the riverine community burning buildings and shops.

SECURITY MONITOR correspondent reports that the crisis which started like a friendly disagreement was between Ajah indegens and Ilaje settlers over the control of dredging sites.

No fewer than 70 shops were reported to have been set ablaze by the gangsters who brandish sophisticated weapons and ammunition.

SECURITY MONITOR scoops that the ticket touts and gangsters have formed themselves into secret society thereby terrorizing the community. “It’s not today this started.

We leave amongst them with fear. The police too know them. And they are very notorious” A youngnman told our correspondent while closing his shop to hide for safety.

Unconfirmed reports have it that gangsters killed some people and throw them into the lagoon but the police who later calmed the situation arrested some of the suspects and whisked them to area J Police Command in Ajah.
